Laura Di Cicco, Artistic and Managing Director
Laura's career as an actor, singer, writer and producer has spanned over 20 years. She graduated from the University of British Columbia and has worked in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. While in Ottawa, Laura worked with Odyssey Theatre's mainstage and helped found Lazzi Lazzi, a touring wing of Odyssey. As well, Laura worked for the CBC as a freelancer for Radios One and Two. Some of her Ontario credits include Street Legal (tv), Friday the 13th (ff), Turandot (stage), Ondine (stage) and The Audition (stage). By mid-1996, Laura had moved back to Vancouver, acting with theatre companies such as Green Thumb Theatre, Ruby Slippers, Theatre Conspiracy and Axis Theatre. Laura has also played the (in)famous Leni Riefenstahl in Mieko Ouchi's The Blue Light for Keyano Theatre's 2010 season. In 1998, Laura was a co-recipient of a Jessie Richardson Award for a tour with Axis Theatre. Vancouver film and television credits include Saving Milly, The League of Lefties, Noah's Arc and Traveler. In addition to her work as an actor, Laura has performed as a singer in a few productions and has also performed as a soloist. In 2004, Laura founded Fugue Theatre, a theatre company dedicated to the commissioning and production of original Canadian operettas and music theatre.
Shannon Macelli, General Manager
While growing up in Drumheller, Alberta, Shannon began learning everything she could about theatre in junior high school. Later, she pursued the BFA – Stage Management degree at the University of Alberta, one of Canada's few specialized programs in theatre management. Since graduating in 2004, she has stage managed across Western Canada while also spending 7 years running a busy residential construction company with her husband. After always wanting to live on the West Coast, they made the move to Vancouver in 2011.
Highlights of her stage management career include five summer seasons of The Canadian Badlands Passion Play: North America's largest outdoor production, and Should've: a new work from Edmonton that toured to Turin, Italy for an international chemistry conference. She has also worked with The Citadel Theatre, Edmonton Opera, Calgary Opera, Theatre Northwest, Kaleidoscope Theatre, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, Green Thumb Theatre and others. She just recently completed the World Premiere and Vancouver area tour of Confessions of the Other Woman: a co-production by Urban Ink, Visceral Visions, Vancouver Playhouse and The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Additionally, Shannon has production managed and coordinated a number of different projects, including 2 seasons of Kaleidoscope Theatre's Young Playwright's Festival. She is very passionate about working with youth, developing new works and making connections in the arts communities across Canada.
