Year 5
Fugue Theatre was formally-created in 2004. That means this year is our sapphire anniversary. In June, we had a party in a funky new space in Yaletown with draw prizes and live music provided by Peggy Lee and Ron Samworth.

Peggy Lee is a Vancouver-based composer/cellist/improviser. Peggy Lee has worked in a broad spectrum of musical worlds, writing music for theatre (Ruby Slippers, Rumble Theatre), Music Theatre (Fugue Theatre), for dance (EDAM, Liz Snellings, Dancorps, Frozen Eye) and for Vancouver based ensembles including the Vancouver New Music Ensemble, Talking Pictures and Standing Wave.
Ron Samworth is a Vancouver-based guitarist/composer who is known on the Canadian improvised/contemporary music scene as an inventive textural improviser and a strong fluid melodicist, informed and inspired by a variety of music traditions including jazz, rock, new music and traditional music of many cultures. He leads the acclaimed Vancouver-based quartet Talking Pictures and co-directed the NOW Orchestra for ten years and co-leads the indie rock bands Darkblueworld and the Luscious. His folio of compositions for improvisers, Audiocentricities, is an ongoing project. He is also a member of the Peggy Lee Band and the Hard Rubber Orchestra. He has performed and recorded with numerous international artists including John Zorn, George Lewis, Evan Parker, Fred Frith, Han Bennink, Dave Douglas, Robin Holcomb and Wayne Horvitz.
